Sometimes we don’t expect the things that happen to us, and more correctly, sometimes we can’t. We don’t know everything, and life isn’t predictable. We are allowed to predict some things. Normal and regular are very important for us and our brains, but so is the unexpected.
I’m not a fan of surprises. I usually like to know what I’m getting and what I’m getting into. Sometimes God does what He does and surprises me, and what I’ve learnt is that His own version is always, always better than mine even when I don’t feel like it is at first.
Are you too prepared for your future that there is no room for God’s surprises? Do you want everything planned, and fitted, and organized? Is there any room for an adventure?
I think we, especially people like me who are eager to know the future, can be more open to things we can’t expect. We can be more open to be challenged, changed, redirected even – only God knows. And God knows. He does, really. He’s not surprised by the things that surprise us. He’s not unprepared for the unexpected as we are, and what this means is that we can trust that our unexpected is His planned and as such, our unexpected can be good.
Let’s not fight what we cannot foresee, but trust in Him who is invisible.
