The Truth She Speaks

Jun 18, 2019 | Bible Studies, Exhortation, Life Hacks, Prayers

“What is truth?” asked Pontus Pilate to Jesus the Christ. “I am the way the truth and the life,” Jesus had answered long before the question was asked. And that, He is.

A woman of God speaks this truth. That Jesus is THE. Not a way. Not a truth. Not a life. Without Him, there is nothing. We are nothing. Anything else is A lie.

To understand this truth, we need to recognize also, what the lie is. If I profess to believe that Jesus is the truth and that He is the Lord, but I choose to live my life apart from this reality, I am practicing a lie. If I say I believe, but do not do, then my faith is dead. It is a lie.

“Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?” (James 2:18-20kjv)

Even the devils believe AND tremble.

I saw an old video from the Oprah Winfrey show. It was well over a decade old, probably two. In it she professed that there are many ways to God, and in the short clip I saw, she was strongly refuted by two women, who insisted that Jesus was (is) the only way. Decades after, her shows showed people completely agreeing with her philosophy. Where have our confident professions of faith gone?

By the way, Jesus said,

“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” (Matthew 7:13-15kjv)

The times we are in call for a clear speaking of the truth.  Later in that same chapter of Matthew, Christ Jesus says,

“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works?

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” (Matthew 7:21-23kjv)

We must profess the whole truth. In the profession of the whole truth is the acknowledgement of the obedience of faith. We can no longer merely proclaim “Jesus is Lord” and live as we please. We cannot even afford to live according to the moral standards of others. That’s why following Christ involves hating one’s mother and father and so on. Jesus explains this concept in Matthew when He says, “He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.” (Matthew 10:37kjv)

If we do not both speak and practice this truth, then what we have is a lie. “Be not deceived. God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.” (Galatians 6:7,8kjv)

What are you professing, believer? What are you speaking? What do you practice? Please remember, even if many other “good professing Christians” like your posts and comments and pictures, they will not be the judge. It is before the throne of God that we must all appear. And we will be judged, everyone.

If people around you are tired of hearing the truth, and somehow you find yourself forgetting what truth is, I plead with you to run, not walk, back to the cross. Run to Christ. Run to the gospel that has the power to save.

Apostle Paul says to us, “…so run that ye may obtain.” (1 Corinthians 9: 24) He continues in verses 26 and 27, “I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.”

Some people say that God loves us so much and can’t get enough of us. I’d like to challenge that simply by pointing out the fact that He is a righteous judge and He will not align with wickedness. His name is a strong tower for the righteous not for the workers of iniquity. Flee from sin. I say this to you and to myself. I never quite understood the fear of God as a good thing in my formation years in the faith. Now I know as the Bible says, “The fear of the LORD, is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” (Proverbs 1:7kjv)

Please hear. Listen and hear. Don’t go about eating and drinking and speaking of peaceful times. Our world is going back to a time where darkness ruled and light was abominable. People have had enough of God and His rules. Now they’ve made their own gods in their own image and worshiped them. The gospel has been proclaimed and men have rejected the truth. It is time. The time of the end is near. Sometimes I wish I wasn’t born into this wicked world. I would not have known my own wickedness nor feared the wickedness of others. But I also rejoice because of Jesus Christ. He is our only hope.

Know the truth. Live the truth. Speak the truth.
