I love praying. It’s the best time of my day when I get to fellowship and commune with God. My discovery is that this best happens with the Holy Spirit’s help.
There are times when I’m praying about a person or persons, or a situation, and I feel the strongest fire – the strongest passion – burning up on my inside. Sometimes I’m praying sort of mundane and the next thing you know, when I bring up a particular situation or person, I’m so excited in my heart for a reason I may not know at the time. And when I pray in such moments, there’s this extra boost of faith I have for that situation.
“In the same way the Spirit helps us in our weaknesses. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.”
This makes me know for sure that I’m not alone. Actually, that I don’t have to pray in my own strength or always in my own understanding.
This year, more than any other time in my life, I’ve come to understand the All-Present Help of the Holy Spirit and how beyond essential He is to our walk with God and our living out our faith. I love the Holy Spirit and I’m so glad Jesus got to send Him down to us! I’m so glad the Holy Spirit was a part of God’s plan for us His children.
I don’t think we should ever have to do without Him. We desperately need His help. He’s called the Helper by the way. And that’s what He does for us. Thank You Holy Spirit!
I have so much to grow in when it comes to the working of the Holy Spirit, but I’m grateful for what I know and what I know I can grow in. We have yet to unlock the HELP of our HELPER. Let’s not move about our day without being conscious of His presence and His help available to us. He’s amazing, and He’s God’s gift to us!
The Spirit knows best.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. 2 Corinthians 13:14
